If I can do it then you can do it right?
Bullshit.
Whether or not I can fit exercise and a healthy lifestyle choices into my busy life has no bearing whatsoever on whether you can. I can’t live your life for you, and nor should you compare your life to mine. My life is a result of my choices. Your life is a result of yours.
Want to know the secret? Good health is by far the best and easiest way to manage a busy life. I’m not talking about acceptable “surviving” health. I mean GOOD Health. You simply can’t expect to manage … and thrive in … a busy life without good health.
There is sooooo much information around about healthy, balanced, nutritious meals and food. But what about exercise? Do you service and maintain the engine and components that make up your body machine? The food is just the fuel remember. Simply putting good fuel in your car doesn’t keep it running well.
Never before has there been more scientific evidence about the importance of regular exercise in maintaining good health. As if just feeling good isn’t evidence enough, now the science backs it up. The trick is to find … to choose … an exercise that works for you, your body and your daily/weekly routine. Don’t waste time or energy comparing your choice of exercise to others. They don’t live in your body.
Self-care is a big buzz word these days, what does it mean to you? For me, nutrition and exercise are very closely linked to my Self-care practices. I CHOOSE to nourish my body with wholesome, organic foods because I’m bloody worth it. And I exercise every day because I’m bloody worth it. This body needs to last me a long time during this life, and I show respect for that by taking the best care of it that I possibly can.
After all, what’s the one thing a busy person dreads the most? Getting sick of course. Who has time for that? Certainly not me. Nor do I have time for my children to be sick either. The best protection against illness is good health. Excellent nutrition and daily exercise are the only genuine prevention strategies if you don’t have time to get sick.
So in answer to the original question; can I really fit exercise into my busy life? Of course you can. In fact, you MUST! You don’t have time to get sick. The great news is you get to choose how, I reckon that’s the best part. What works for you is exactly what your body needs. You can fit it into your busy life because you will choose to … because you’re bloody worth it.
